Treatment guidelines/expectations

How many visits will my dog need?

The frequency of adjustments truly depends on the dog’s age and history and the complexity of the condition/symptoms involved. As a VERY general guideline, following the first visit Dr. Shelley will probably want to see your animal 3-5 times over a period of 2-4 weeks. Some dogs require fewer visits, and some require more to work through the initial complaint.

For maintenance purposes, most dogs do well being seen every 4-6 weeks, and some may be seen every 2-3 months. Older dogs, or those with a complicated history or a severe initial complaint, may benefit from twice-monthly adjustments for some time.

We will discuss the appropriate care plan as we get to know you and your dog better.
