About Us
We believe that health and healing should be exciting, fun, and full of hope. Our team is serious about Chiropractic, and we are serious about your health, but we are not overly serious about ourselves! We make our work fun, laugh rather a lot, openly share gratitude, and celebrate your victories and each other’s (big and small). You’ll find our office welcoming, comfortable, and safe, no matter who you are – and we love it when you make yourself at home. We are honored to be a part of your family care plan.
Jessica Shelley, DC, CVSMT
Dr. Jessica Shelley grew up in the wilds of New Mexico and graduated from Taos High School in 1992. She went on to attend Vassar College and graduated in 1996 with a degree in Biopsychology (now called “Neuroscience and Behavior.”)
While at Vassar, she gained a deep appreciation for the intricacies of the nervous system and the vital role it plays in all aspects of human health. She also had a personal health experience with Chiropractic, which fueled her determination to pursue the study of Chiropractic herself. She received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life University, summa cum laude, in September, 2000.
After graduating from Life, she moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where she founded Cuyahoga Chiropractic. She is married and has three grown children, two dogs, and some kayaks. Believe it or not, she also loves to knit.
A gentler approach
Dr. Shelley has extensive post-graduate training in low-force chiropractic techniques including Directional Non-force Technique™ and Torque Release Technique, and takes a very individualized approach to the care of every patient. She does not rely on techniques that utilize cracking or popping to adjust the spine. Instead, she uses gentle adjustments which are very specific in direction, allowing for a subtle but effective correction.
Continuing education and mutual collegial support are important to Dr. Shelley! She is a member in good standing of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), the Chiropractic Leadership Alliance (CLA), and the College of Animal Chiropractors (CoAC). She has also contributed to the field through her own writing and teaching.
Family care means pets too!
Dr. Shelley is also a licensed Animal Chiropractor. She received her CVSMT (Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy) degree from The Healing Oasis in 2021 and is certified by the College of Animal Chiropractors. She primarily cares for dogs and cats in the comfort of their own homes. You can learn more about our pet care here.
Traci Herbruck
Traci is our office manager extraordinaire and the true boss of the office. She started as a patient of Dr. Shelley’s before coming to work here. Traci took early retirement to raise her two daughters, one of whom was suffering from recurrent respiratory troubles. She saw firsthand the positive change in her own daughter’s health from receiving chiropractic care! So when Dr. Shelley found herself in need of an Office Manager, Traci was happy to join the team.
She was thrilled to get back in to the work force and be part of an environment that has such a positive impact on families and the community. Traci has been with Dr. Shelley for more than 10 years and would not have it any other way. In addition to a husband and two daughters, Traci has two Labrador Retrievers.
